Presentation of Liliana Faccioli Pintozzi's book entitled: "Figlie di Eva. La battaglia delle donne per la Vita e la Libertà in Iran, Afghanistan e Stati Uniti" (“Daughters of Eve. The women's battle for life and freedom in Iran, Afghanistan and the United States”) "What do the protests in Afghanistan, Iran and the United States have in common?Simple. The nature of discrimination is always based on sexual gender.” These are the words of Shirin Ebadi, Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2003, borrowed by the author to describe women's battle for life and freedom in these countries. “Talking to women buried under the burqa who every day negotiate for glimpses of an acceptable everyday life. Collecting the testimonies of girls who, by removing their veils, affirm their right to choose and, in doing so, make a Regime that has chosen their submission as its cornerstone tremble. Witnessing the involution of the condition of women in the United States, the country most similar to us, often indicated as the example to look to. All that made this book necessary for me.”
